Thursday night, Jon Stewart spent almost 15 minutes doing a spot on impersonation of Glen Beck. It was wild, scary, and hilarious. Fan’s of the Daily Show are use to Jon’s characters, but this was a whole new level. He really showed his command of acting this time. If only he could have given as good a performance in the Faculty.

Finally flubber has a video game. Too bad it just involves jumping across the keyboard. Jelly Jumper is a game where you have a little man jump from one key on a keyboard to another. It sounds lame, but it’s actually fun. The game has a ton of levels and challenges. I like to play it when I have a little free time… or in class.

Super Mario Bros flash game. Yes!!! The game is just like the version on the Super Nintendo and the graphics are close. The controls aren’t too to bad — it’s just as frustrating as I remember. I just found the game and plan to play it the rest of the week, or, like most video games, until I can’t beat a level.

People have been playing music in basements for a long time. Most of the time it’s crappy, but every once in a while good bands get back to their roots and play in underground spaces. From the Basement is a website that has high definition videos of performances by some awesome bands like Radiohead, Beck, Damien Rice, and Gnarls Barkley just to name a few. The bands play with no audience in small spaces that displays their talent. You can tell that they are having a lot of fun playing. Click around the videos there are a lot of good ones.

This is the funniest thing I’ve seen in weeks. I thought America was done being lazy, I thought our country was moving forward, but I guess not. Case in point: Pajama Jeans. Yep, denim-style pajama pants. I already bought my pair, so next Friday when I’m laying in bed crying I won’t have too put on new pants to go to the door and sign for my pizza.

Grooveshark is an internet radio site that lets you pick the songs you want to hear, which is really cool. You can listen to whole albums or selected songs, and you can even make a playlist that wont suck. There are a ton of bands on the site, but it’s mostly just newer bands, which is the one draw back. Definitely check it out though, because it’s a great way to listen to music. They even have apps you can use on your phone for a few bucks a month.

Thom Yorke plays, and we pay attention. This is how it goes for most Radiohead fans. Here’s a video of him playing Airbag in Cambridge, England form. It’s haunting and simple, and gets to the heart of why so many of us love this band and their music.

Remember 2006? Yeah, that was good times. Like google bought youtube… Um… there were midterm elections… ok it was a shitty year, but this video came out around then. It tells the epic tale of a battle started by Godzilla and Batman, which is pretty quickly joined by every other awesome thing ever.

This game has destroyed my studying in the past couple days. I’ve done nothing but try to beat it. The basic idea is you shoot balls at towers of bricks making them fall to their demise. It’s a bit of strategy, a bit of luck, and a lot of frustration, but for some reason I can’t stop playing. There are special challenges each level, which is great if you think the game is too easy. Play the game it’s a lot of fun.

Bro’s. They eat at Hooters (#54), play beer pong (#6), and watch the Wire (#73). These lovable drunkards always bring smiles to my face when I see them in the gym or out on the town. This is a comedic blog about all of the stupid shit that bro’s do. I think it’s pretty funny, but it made me worried that I was a bro. Then I remembered that all men love meat (#71).

The official band list came out… and I’m going to have to say it… it’s not meeting the bonnaroo bar this year. Sure there are a lot of great acts, like Jay-Z, Norah Jones, Dave Matthews Band, Stevie Wonder, and The Flaming Lips on the farm for 2010, but it just doesn’t feel like the Roo. Last year there were at least 8 bands that could have headlined that festival (hell, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs headlined Lolla, and they didn’t even get a night slot at bonnaroo!) I mean come on guys. Kings of Leon as a headliner? and Weezer? Don’t get me wrong Pinkerton is a great album, but they haven’t done anything relavent since the late 90’s.

I love bonnaroo, and I have faith that they’ll put a great show together. There are ups; I like a lot of the smaller bands. Jay Electronica, Diane Birch, She and Him, and The National are going to be great shows. And there are some guilty pleasures on the list too, like the blood spewing metal band GWAR. But still, Bonnaroo 2010, I’m going to wait and see what other acts you can bring out before I buy my ticket.

Hipsters flock from all around to listen to their copy of 2008’s smash hit album Fleet Foxes by the Fleet Foxes. Ok, it wasn’t a smash hit, but everyone who listened to it was haunted by the lovely harmonies and interesting arrangments. Last night Jon Stewart appeared on the O’Reilly Factor to chat it up with Papa Bear himself. The interview is subdued, Jon isn’t his normal jester self, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t funny: he effortlessly quips back at O’Rielly’s brash comments. There isn’t much intellectual discourse in the interview, but Jon tries to explain some problems facing the nation. So as you can imagine nothing much is said. Jon puts valid points out on the table, and Bill just goes and insults or raises his voice at Jon. It’s aggravating, but watch the interview, it’s fun.

Absurdity is funny. It might not make sense, it may not have a point or moral, it doesn’t force us to contemplate what is wrong with society, or how we should change, but it provides us a chance to laugh. So let’s all watch this video and laugh. Cause that’s what we need.
