The Animal vs. Buddy Rich

Buddy Rich is an animal, and Animal is a Muppet. In this retro video clip from the classic Muppet Show Animal and Buddy Rich have a little drum battle. It’s excellent puppeteering and percussion.

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story

It seems like every year we get at least three new movies about the real story behind some famous band or musician. But what about the eclectic and infamously… well… weird, Weird Al Yankovic? Surely there’s an interesting story behind his pop-culture and polka fueled madness. Fortunately, Funny or Die has put together a trailer for the unfortunately fake Weird Al biopic, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. Look for a cameo from Al himself as a (short-haired) record exec.

Alan Watts Theater

Alan Watts Theater

Free your mind, explore the spaces of your soul. No? It’s all very zen. Anyways, here are some short animated movies of Allan Watts quotes animated by the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The movies aren’t dirty or crude, but rather insightful and pleasant. They are funny, just not in same way South Park is.

Jon Stewart poops on Glenn Beck

Jon Stewart poops on Glenn Beck

Thursday night, Jon Stewart spent almost 15 minutes doing a spot on impersonation of Glen Beck. It was wild, scary, and hilarious. Fan’s of the Daily Show are use to Jon’s characters, but this was a whole new level. He really showed his command of acting this time. If only he could have given as good a performance in the Faculty.

French Roast

This Oscar-nominated short film has all of the best parts of those three to five minute sequences that precede every Disney/Pixar movie: really good animations, humor, an original storyline crammed into a very short amount of time, and a warm and fuzzy aftertaste at the end.

Village Sniper

I frequently walk across campus at Tulane with a smug look on my face, taking everything for granted. What we need here is a sniper, someone to keep us on our toes (FBI people please don’t raid my room I was just kidding). Anyway, in this video a village of seemingly nice people inherit a town sniper who with his friendly eastern European accent and deadly accuracy teaches us all a lesson on how valuable our lives are. Check it out after the jump.

Bill Dance Bloopers

I wouldn’t usually post a Youtube blooper video, but this is the first Youtube video that has had me laughing out loud in a long time. If you don’t know who Bill Dance is, which is totally acceptable if you don’t live in the Deep South, he’s a professional fisherman with an extremely boring show where he takes himself entirely too seriously. Check out the video on Youtube, gosh darnit!

Ed Norton Gets High with Ed Norton

Ed Norton Gets High with Ed Norton

In the upcoming movie Leaves of Grass, Edward Norton travels to Oklahoma in search of his drug-dealing twin brother, played by Edward Norton. Here’s a short clip from the movie, in which Stoner Ed Norton gets Haircut Ed Norton to break his smoking hiatus. Edward Norton is usually enough to get me to see a movie (see, The Incredible Hulk), so two Edward Nortons is a dream come true. Who knows, maybe the Eddy Murphy formula works well with a good actor.

I can’t embed the video here, so check it out over at Slashfilm.com

Some people on Chatroulette are nice

A lot of girls go to bars thinking they’re gonna find guys there who want more than just to show them their penises. Of course, every so often a girl actually finds a decent guy at a bar, and, even more shockingly, sometimes you can even find them on Chatroulette. Take this guy who goes around improving songs on his piano for the lovely people he gets paired up with. He’s hilarious, and his songs are pretty good too. Although, this guy’s not that different, I mean, he’s only on Chatroulette to show me a pianist.

Check out the rest of his videos in his YouTube Channel, and watch the first one embedded after the jump.

Rowan Atkinson’s Guide to the Perfect First Date

You may know Rowan Atkinson as Mr. Bean, but that’s like knowing Robin Williams as the guy from RV. Rowan had a much better show on the BBC before Mr. Bean called Black Adder, and he also does some great standup comedy. My favorite sketch of his, his guide to the perfect first date, is embedded after the jump (click “read more”).

Midd Kid

I go to Bowdoin, a small college in New England, and we have a lot of bizarre stereotypes. The first time I walked on campus I noticed that a lot of the boys rolled up their jeans a little too high so that their Tevas would poke out. We also have a lot of lacrosse bros who listen to too much Dave Matthews for anyone’s good. This video is technically about Middlebury, but the stereotypes it points out definitely apply to all of the other tiny liberal arts colleges in the area. Bowdoin doesn’t have a Quidditch team, but we are still G’s throwin some free granola.

Gary Busey on the Red Carpet

No, not the red carpet for the Oscars. Gary Busey isn’t allowed within five miles of the Academy Awards ceremony for the reasons that he’s clearly not a sane individual, he could probably cut through steel with his teeth, and he’s a morlock. This video was taken instead at the prestigious Night of 100 Stars (I really hope Gary isn’t included in that figure). Enjoy the most terrifying two minutes of this brave reporter’s career.

Bill Maher: New Rule: Lose your Kool

Bill Maher: New Rule: Lose your Kool

There are a handful of people who are just right about everything, and Bill Maher is one of them. Now, he enjoys offending people too much for people to really take him seriously, but the man is unfailingly right about shit. Here, he explains how Obama needs to quit smoking so that our government can finally get something done.

Unfortunately, Bill’s friendship with Ariana Huffington means I have to send you over to the Huffington Post to watch this video, so check it out there.

Lying is an art

Sometimes a lie is so much more interesting than the truth that you just have to accept it. I won’t give away the video because it’s only about a minute, so watch and be amazed at the immense power of a good story.

Everywhere, like, such as…

I know I have been on an unannounced hiatus recently, so I thought it most appropriate and befitting to offer my fellow collegians a comforting solace in this turbulent period that is mid-term season. Despite all your potential follies and academic misfortune, know that you will always be smarter than at least one person in the world…

Zach Galifianakis was awesome hosting SNL

Zach Galifuckyouicantspellthis hosted SNL last week, and he was actually really funny. I loved him in The Hangover, obviously, but everything I’ve seen him do since has fallen flat (Between two ferns?). His opening monologue for SNL was great throughout though, and I know that can’t be because the SNL writers fed him a bunch of jokes, so I guess I’m a Zach Galifianakis fan now. Check out his monologue after the jump (click “read more”).

The Sims: A Horror Film

Sims lead terrifying lives. They don’t know when to go to the bathroom, their free will has a toggle option, and everything is flammable. College Humor imagines the potential in a horror movie based on the best-selling God simulation. The twist would be great, they were in a computer the whole time!

The World’s Most Action Packed Movie

Action movies are an unappreciated art. The catharsis that comes with watching a man punch another man’s head off is unparalleled. Having said that, here’s a summary of the greatest action movie no one has ever seen. Looks like it’s time to dust off the old VHS player and journey over to ebay for a copy of DEADLY PREY.

Pajama Jeans! YES!

Pajama Jeans! YES!

This is the funniest thing I’ve seen in weeks. I thought America was done being lazy, I thought our country was moving forward, but I guess not. Case in point: Pajama Jeans. Yep, denim-style pajama pants. I already bought my pair, so next Friday when I’m laying in bed crying I won’t have too put on new pants to go to the door and sign for my pizza.
